The writer worked at Gemini Studios. This was a big film company in Chennai. Many people worked there. They made Tamil movies. The writer's job was in the makeup department. They used a lot of makeup called "Pancake". That is why the story is called "Poets and Pancakes".

Part 2: The Office Boy

There was an office boy. His name was Subbu. He was very talented. He could write poems and stories. He could also act. But he worked as an office boy. The writer felt sad for him. The writer thought Subbu deserved a better job.

Part 3: The Poet's Visit

One day, a famous English poet came to the studio. Nobody knew who he was. Everyone was confused. Later, they learned he was Stephen Spender, a very famous poet. The visit was funny because nobody understood him and he did not understand them.
